A Publication lets a researcher explain a paper in their own words. The mobile app guides them through three short chapters, then the recording is processed and the researcher checks the result.

1. Choose the format. In the mobile app, use the center button to create a work and choose Publication. A coordinator first selects the researcher the work is about.
2. Choose the research. Select one to five papers from OpenAlex, the research catalogue used by LT. These are the papers the video will explain.
3. Record three chapters. Explain the Question, the Method and the Findings. The teleprompter helps you follow your text, and the camera helps you line up your face. Preview each take and record it again if needed.
4. Prepare the presentation. Take a cover photo and check the title. The app checks that the required recordings and information are present before submission. Researcher-created work also needs a linked ORCID account.
5. Submit and approve. A coordinator-created work needs the subject researcher's approval before processing. An invited researcher without an account can receive an approval link by email, but must register and complete the required connection before final confirmation.
6. Review the finished video. Processing combines the recordings and prepares the playable video, including subtitles. The researcher checks the result and confirms it or asks for changes. A processing failure needs attention before this step can happen.
7. Reach the public website. This is the intended final destination. The automatic publishing handoff and registration of a new video's digital object identifier (DOI) are not complete today. Confirmation should not be taken to mean that a live page already exists.

Other kinds of video

A Profile Video introduces the researcher. It skips the paper-selection step and uses About Me, Area of Research and Findings as its chapters. It is not eligible for a DOI.
