OpenAlex is the scholarly-data source used by LT for papers, institutions and research classification. An LT Work's “source publications” are OpenAlex works, not other LT videos. Core caches paper records and exposes a source-publication search to the app.

Publication accepts one to five source papers. Publication Plus requires one. Profile Video accepts none. Source-paper selection supplies research context, including authors and original-paper DOI; it does not create a DOI for the video.

A typed ORCID helps discover the researcher's papers before identity proof is linked. Institution and project workflows are separate Core API areas, with OpenAlex assistance documented in the Core domain skill.
